The clients, who have a new-born, approached us with his vision to uplift the living condition of his existing home at Bukit Damansara for the future of his family.

The design is greatly inspired by the Japanese word “Engawa” which literally means ‘edge-side’ and generally refers to an edging activity veranda that is commonly seen in a traditional Japanese house. It is a threshold space, an essential part of the house that brings together the inside and outside, people and nature. This essence of Engawa becomes the core idea that drives the design towards its unlimited possibilities, with the aim to improve the environment and the well-being of the client’s family.
