Tingkat5 is a rooftop refurbishment that introduces a new communal layer to an existing building in Cheras. Initially conceived as an extension for new tenancy, the project gradually expanded in ambition through place-making research and community study.

The design evolved into a flexible architectural framework that supports sport, dining, hobbies, and informal gatherings, adapting to changing needs over time. The intervention refreshes the building façade while retaining the familiarity and character of the old structure.

Open, porous, and welcoming, Tingkat5 is conceived as a place of belonging—where everyday activities overlap and community life unfolds above the city.
